They could also mean that different kinds of brake repair or maintenance is needed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What brake noises can appear?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brake noises you may notice include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rattling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Squealing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grinding<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Squeaking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Groaning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Popping<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brake hardware or a backing plate, which is a thin metal, are going to make a high pitched noise. Also, you have rust and corrosion on tone rings, which can make the anti-lock braking system (ABS) engage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may hear what appears to be a grinding noise if there is rust on the rotors from the vehicle sitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rust building up can lead to a squeaking noise, as well. The weather could also be at fault. You might experience this symptom if it\u2019s cold and damp outside. Certain brake pads \u2013 like performance brake pads \u2013 also create this sound if they\u2019re cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are several other possible causes behind brake noise. One of them is brake dust, which brakes produce as they experience wear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sounds can be linked with brake pads, as well. This symptom may appear when a vehicle has poor brake pads or uses cheap brake pad material.
